I need some traditional irish dances!?

I take a irish dance class and i've gotten pretty good. i now want to earn a some extra money and start a little dance class of my own. i want to teach them traditional irish light jigs, single jigs, slip jigs, and reels but i dont want to copy the dances i'm learning from my teacher. what are some traditional dances i could teach to little girls in my neighborhood?

  1. Well, there are the "traditional set" dances (hard shoe dances) that all dance schools do the same steps to.  These include: St. Patrick's Day, Blackbird & Garden of Daisies (in order of easiest to hardiest).  However, it's hard to start off with hard shoes, and especially hard to start off with these.  I would just make up my own steps to a reel or light jig- its not as hard as it sounds!  Something simple - for example, just getting them to do jumps in a circle for a reel.
