"Asomaba a sus ojos una lágrima

y a mi labio una frase de perdón;

habló el orgullo y se enjugó su llanto,

y la frase en mis labios expiró.

Yo voy por un camino; ella, por otro;

pero, al pensar en nuestro mutuo amor,

yo digo aún: -¿Por qué callé aquel día?

Y ella dirá: -¿Por qué no lloré yo?"

  1. A tear appeared in her eyes

    and forgiving words in my mouth;

    pride spoke, and she wiped away her tears,

    and the words in my lips expired.

    I take one way, she takes another;

    but, thinking in our mutual love

    I say yet - Why did I say nothing that day?

    and she will say: Why I didn´t cry?

  2. "Asomaba a sus ojos una lágrima

    This means:

    "Asoma a tear to your eyes and my lip a sentence of forgiveness; spoke pride and wipes his tears, and the phrase in my lips expired. I'm going down a path, she, on the other, but when thinking about our mutual love, yet I say: - Why street that day? And she will say: - Why I did not cry myself? "
