I have been running about 30+ miles a week, I have a two year old, work has been hectic and busy. Im not going to the doctor, but wanted to know if there is something I can take to mellow me out.

Something over the counter I can pick up at Trader Joes or something.

  1. Fish oil. Barlean's is a good brand that doesn't taste fishy, and comes in capsules and oil form both. It calms me down quickly. It's also good for your heart, cholesterol, blood pressure, and memory.

  2. Drink Chamomile tea and inhale essential oil of lavender.

  3. weed?

  4. Deep breathing through the nose (not the mouth) will work if you do it for at least ten minutes, and it is free!  Drinking chamomile tea (if you're not allergic to ragweed) will be helpful, too.  You can try putting a little lavender oil (an essential oil) in a bathtub and soak in it for a while.  You might try Bach's Rescue Remedy (you can get it at a health food store) which is a flower essence that is very helpful.  Also avoid caffeine, and don't exercise late at night.  Hope you feel better soon.

  5. try mediation and yoga. you might find this very relaxing.
