i have a presentation on why do women change or keep their last name after marriage??

Have you tried using academic search engines like JSTOR? JSTOR is great for this sort of thing. I also like using "Sociological Abstracts". Try that if you have not used it before. Both of these should help you find what you are looking for.

Can I please tell you something?

There is NO website in the universe that can tell you how and why women do anything - it's ever changing and varies by miles, sweetie :)

But it just seems that the man is "more dominant" that the lady changes her last name. It's fun to change it and you know when people talk about their maiden names - it's just a wonderful experience! - unless your new surname is Bob or something like that................
