Question

i have this antique cameo and i need to know if it is worth anything..

my grandfather left it for me and i just want to know if its valuable...

It is hard to answer without seeing an item in the real, take it to a jewellers and they should be able to appraise it for you.

Some of the points a cameo is valued on would be detail in comparison to size, and depth of cut/3 dimensionality, as well as age, condition, clarity and any provenance. In this image the cut below the chin suggests a certain depth of carving which is one indicator of a sign of quality, so it would be worth having this seen by a professional.

take it to a coin store. Alot of coin stores also sell jewelry or silver they may be able to appraise it. Also try ebay, you might be able to find a similar one to compare it with.
