I need braces but I have no Idea how much it costs. Here are some quesion I have about getting braces:

How much do braces costs?

Does it hurt when the dentist puts them on your teeth?

How do they put the braces on your teeth?

How long do you have to wear braces for them to fix your teeth?

1. They cost about $3500-$5000. It all depends on where you live, if your dental plan will cover it, or whether or not you're going to get traditional metal braces or ceramic (clear ones.),

2. No, when the orthodontist puts them on, it does not hurt. It only hurts when they put the wire through your brackets and tighten it. .

3. First and foremost before getting your braces, you'll have to take x rays and take 'before and after' photos of your teeth. Then your ortho will ask you to bite down on some soft clay like material to mold your teeth for further assessment. After your ortho analyzes your teeth, he or she will place spacers in between your molars. Spacers help make room for the back molar anchors to fit in. After a week or so having the spacers, your ortho will remove them and clean out your teeth. After thats done, he'll place anchor brackets to your molars, start placing glue on your teeth, and put the brackets over it and you wait for however long it takes for the brackets to stick on. The whole process takes about 30-50 minutes, depending how fast your ortho does it.

4. After it gets tighten, you'll start feeling slight pain. Reason being, your teeth and gums aren't use to the pressure being applied on them, so it will naturally feel uncomfortable. However, after a week or two, the pain will start residing. BTW, every tightening appointment after your first initial tighten should last about 15 minutes.

5. It all depends. You're going to have to talk to your ortho about it since he'll be analyzing your teeth. Depending on how crooked or un aligned your teeth are, you could be wearing it for 2-6 years. On average though, most people wear it for only 2 years like me.

Other important facts about braces: Once you get your braces, you should keep it clean at all times. Brush at least 2 times a day, brushing around your brackets, and behind your teeth (Your ortho will teach you how to brush.) Also, use scope or mouth mouse. The last thing you want is gingivitis or cavities....

Another important thing to keep in mind is, DO NOT MISS ANY OF YOUR APPOINTMENTS. Missing 1 or 2 is okay, but try not missing more than that, otherwise you're going to have to wear your braces for a longer period of time.

they arent that big of a deal. i had them twice.. like two years each time.

not sure but i had two sons that had them

not after the braces come off

sometimes for couple years or whatever mine son went 4 years and they are beautiful teeth. my sons look great and it was well worth it sometimes you can get ir cheaper with insurance or not.

I had braces 25 years ago, so probably theres been changes, but...

1. I have no idea the cost... hope to have insurance.

2. Doesnt hurt to 'put them on' that I remember, some parts are 'glued' to the teeth and others sorta wrap the teeth... but its the 'adjustments' that can cause some pain ad the doctor tightens the wires so as to create a slight constant preasure on the teeth they want to move.

3. after an adjustment it can kinda ache for a day or so.

4. I had braces for about 3 years... the results were awsome!

It is possible to play musical instruments AND have braces... I played trumpet for 3 years with braces... it hurts sometimes, but you use wax to cover the sharp parts of the braces so it is possible...

braces can range in price..prolly in the 4000. dollar area.  depending on how old you are and what your insurance says, they may cover some of it.  you could also enroll in the flex spending at your work if it's available where you work.  that is pretax dollars put into a "savings account" for you to use for medical or dental expenses.  but you have to use it in that calendar year and you can only usually sign up in january.

to your questions.  they don't really hurt, just like a pulling feeling.  a brace is glued to each tooth and a bracket is put on your back molar.  the dentist will hook a wire from one bracket and on each brace to the bracket on the other side.  that's done on the top and bottom.  the dentist will tighten the wires until your teeth are straightened.  your teeth will hurt from the pressure but you will get used to it.

normally braces are worn for around 2 years. but it all depends on how crooked your teeth are.

**You'd need to speak to your dentist because they all charge different amounts.

I didn't find that it hurt when they put them on my teeth but afterwards it would hurt heaps.  Don't listen to people who say that they don't hurt your teeth.

The dentist glue the braces to each tooth and then put the wire through them.  That's how you get different colours on your braces because they use coloured bands to hold the wire on the brace.

Depending on how bad your teeth are is what will determine how long you need your braces on for.  I was meant to have mine on for 24 months and I ended up getting them taken off earlier.

it does hurt when they put it on your teeth

they use this thing to stick the bracketson your teeth after that they use a wire and put rubberbands on to keep the wire in place

afterwords your tteth hurt for about a week and u get ur braces changed every month. when i got mine changed it hurt for about 3 days after i changed it but then you'll get use 2 it

it depends on your tteth for how long you have it for

Hi I just got my braces on and I have appliances in.

your questions.

1) Braces could cost anywhere from 1,000 to 8,000 or more. Mine costed 6400.

2) No it doesnt hurt. But I advise you to take some asprin before you go so that way afterwards if they start to hurt then it won't be as bad.

3) First they may or may not polish your teeth. Then they put this blue gel on your teeth, then rinse it off. Beware it tastes horrible. Then the put the cement on to keep the brakets on and then they put them on. But Idk how they do full mouth. But they put them on and they check it with a pojey thing and see if it is permanatly on. then put a blue light on it to set the cement then the put your color you want in and then your off.

4) Honestly it depends my mouth was fine. But my friend had some pain. So still take asprin and if you have any prescription motrin or tynol then use that.

5) Ask you othordontist about that. It depends on how severe the case is.

More facts

-Brush your teeth alot  I dont think you want white stains on you teeth forever, Pluse have food in your wires is disgusting. Eat soft foods until your used to them. At first it feels weird after a while you get used to them and it feels natual.

well you asked nicely to answer these questions sooo I will because I have had braces

1.  Braces cost different prices they just all depend on you and your orthodontist talk to him or her about it and whats best and right for you

2.  It doesnt hurt to get them put on at all unless you are sensitive to touch but it will be sore for a few days after you get them on.

3.  They take glue and glue them on and then take wires and put them through the brackets and then put bands on them

4.  Your teeth do hurt afterwards

5.  It all depends on you and how your teeth are and how fast they will be fixed its different for everyone.

This is what they did to me....

Mine cost around 6000 but that covered everything. All bills their, anything that needed to be replaced, and the braces

Mine didnt really hurt till afterwards becayse my teeth felt too tight!
