To GIVE a room makeover to someone else???

or did you just need to know how to do one for yourself.

I'd start with a style board, that has pics of things you like anything relative like carpet/tile/wood floor pics, wallpaper, magazine pictures of whole rooms, or catalogue pics of bedding or cushions or paintings or objects d'art you like, stick them onto a big piece of cardboard to get an idea of what type of look you are trying to acheive, it is amazing how this simple task clearly defines your personal style, and if you are new to decorating it is perfect to take with you when chosing paints, fabric etc so you can show the store assistant who will help you pick something apropriate to your style.

Secondly, decide what you can and can't afford to change'

then, what you can not change work out how to use it or lose it

then, decide what you will actually do, make a list such as

pull up carpet, lay cork flooring

sand and paint walls

hang new curtains

etc etc

then once you have the list put it into logical order starting with clearing out the room (and giving it a quick clean too), and moving on from there.

Then, list everything you will need for the project

then buy the things you need, and start work.

Gee, there are just so many ways to give a room a make over.  For starters, you can buy those Home and Garden type magazines, or you can do a google search on how to give a room a makeover and do your research.  You can paint the walls a different color, you can change your pictures or paintings on the walls, you can get new lamps, new couch pillows, new bed coverings, maybe add a throw rug, and try to move your furniture around into different places....hope this helps.  Good Luck.
