that I can use for the dentist and eye doctor because thats almost all i would use it for.

Noor,

Dental and Vision coverage is usually only available as supplement for Medical coverage.  If you want to purchase temporary coverage for up to 180 days, you can purchase that through a broker or an insurance website.  Some plans, depending on the carrier will allow you to add on supplemental dental and vision coverage.  

If you want to purchase dental and vision coverage separately, you would need to contact the carriers directly to see if they offer individual policies. If you need help finding a toll-free number for a dental or vision provider, try 1-800-555-1212 which is toll-free number directory assistance.

They're mostly separate plans, but don't NOT get a health plan because dental problems generally don't cause long term financial disasters like not having health insurance can.

Consider the Aetna discount plan...out of 30+ plans I sell (including insurance plans) it's my personal favorite because you get a good caliber dentist.  Most discount plans deal with less than desireable dentists, but since this plan is created as an offshoot from a comprehensive PPO dental plan you get good dentist.  My personal dentist takes it.

AND, unlike discount health plans which are junk (because a $100,000 hospital bill could wipe you out with a discount plan).  Dental INSURANCE plans generally only cover $1000-$1500/year anyway.  So, why pay $500/year for $1000 of coverage when a good caliber discount dental plan costs about $8-$10/month (there are bad ones though...especially one touted on this site that is the Amway of dental plans)
