  1. I have had them and what works for me are warm wash rags on the eye. on for 20 minutes and off for 20 minutes do this if you are watching a movie or a long show-----do this for a couple of  hours ,you can do this as often as you like

  2. There are sties and chalazions. Sties go away and chalazions don't. They have to be removed by an ophthalmologist. If your "stie" persists for more than 2 weeks, it is a chalazion.

  3. Warm compresses always worked for me although it can take weeks for it to drain. Ask your doctor if it is at a point where he/she could lance it to help it drain and heal quicker. You still have six days so don't get too freaked when they go away it is usually fairly quick. Just keep your hands clean and away from your eyes. When you feel like rubbing it use a warm compress which is a washcloth soaked in hot water and wrung out and placed on your closed eye.

  4. It takes time and patience.  A stye is actually caused by a bacteria, an infection, and you may need antibiotics to treat it, but sometimes it will go away on its own.  Soften the stye by applying a hot, moist compress several times a day for at lease 10 minutes at a time.

Whenever you are treating a stye, be very careful and resist the urge to pop or squeeze it! Do not rub your eyes because you can easily spread the infection to your other eye - that is unless you want a matching sett.  If your stye does not go away within a week see your doctor about getting antibiotics.
