I need suggestions for ways to make a cheap diy segway...?

I have an idea right now but i would like to find some better ideas that would work better and are cheap. my budget is around 500 dollars

The amount of technology in the Segway is WAY over any DIY'ers realm of possibility. The computers and chips and gyros that make up the balance system (the most important part of the entire device) alone are probably more than $500. Now, if you dont need it to be controlled by balance, I.E. 4 wheels instead of 2, its wouldnt be that difficult, the stearing would be hard to figure out if you are dead set on standing on something with your feet spread apart and handlebars...

Here's the solution to your problem... Get a scooter
