We went on this ship last Jan. but it was diabolical for service, food, cabin, and smell. We were supposed to be on deck 7 but put in bowels on deck 2.Corridor smelt of sewage. Shower wouldn't drain, hand basin plug wouldn't release and toilet wouldn't flush. Nightmare to keep getting them sorted.

Food was awful, cold, always the same. Chef didn't know how to cook a steak! NO lobster on Captain's night! To cap it all I got my legs badly bitten by fleas in the cabin!! Dr. wouldn't attend to them unless I paid her! Worse,Guest Services and some crew told porkies by saying that the ship had been in dry dock the week before for new carpet and fumigation!!Other crew told us it hadn't, they had been on the water for weeks. The carpets were not new. Just in case anyone asks. Yes, they were flea bites, they were confirmed by a Dr.after the 'cruise', also we picked up on sellotape the 'evidence'. Also having worked for a vet I know what I was bitten by. Do not sail on Sovereign of the Seas.

  1. A good forum for this info is Cruise Critics.com You might even find fellow passengers that have had luck with Royal Caribbean.

  2. Cant you call and complain???

  3. Royal Caribbean spends a lot of time making sure their new ships like the Freedom and the Liberty are up to par with everybody's expectations that they forget about older ships like the Sovereign, and making sure they also live up to the Royal Caribbean image.

They need to realize that one bad experience can turn away customers for a lifetime, so all their ships must be maintained to a standard. I recently sailed with the Navigator, which is not that old, but I had a wonderful experience. Sorry to hear you didn't.

  4. that shp is currently going through a massive renovation. It ios old and something could havve happened and some crew knew and others dint. It is not their fault. Go on another hip, and try that.

  5. Its best to write a letter and spell out all of the issues and your proposed resolution.

    Royal Caribbean International

    1050 Caribbean Way

    Miami, FL 33132-2096

There is a link to the Royal Caribbean corporate people on their web site but its hard to find, so here it is:  http://www.royalcaribbean.com/aboutus/ho...

I suggest writing your letter DIRECTLY to the Corporate President, Adam Goldstein, and the CC all of the other people who are on the link that say, "Our Leadership".  Then if its bad enough have an attorney send the letter.  You may also want to get your local TV consumer reporters involved as they usually get results, especially when the business does not want bad press coverage.

I had a problem, not that bad, on a cruise a few years ago and writing to the top got me responses, including telephone calls.

I am really sorry to hear this about the Sovereign as that's our next cruise in about 30 days .... Hmmmmmm !!
