I need the exact words to write in a thank you card

I know it sounds impersonal but I have only met these people once. They are an older couple who treated us to a dinner at a fairly expensive restaurant just b/c my husband skimmed a few bugs out of their pool for a week (using their pool was thanks enough for us) but I feel I should send a thank you note. Here is what I have...Dear _ & _,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for such a wonderful evening. We had a great time-and thats all I have. PLEASE, feel free to change anything or just stop by and write it yourself. I will let you swim in their pool for the rest of summer. THANKS! ;)

You could say something really short and sweet:

Dear ______,

Thank you so much for allowing us to use your pool and for the wonderful evening.  We had a great time.
