I've been doing genealogical research for awhile now, and people here have been pretty helpful in giving tips and clues and stuff. But no matter what I can't ever find any information on my great-grandmother before she married my great-grandfather. I know that her father was born in NYS, she was born in OH and the date and her maiden name, but never can I find a thing. Would anyone be willing to help me out?

  1. Re census 1881 ... use the link provided by GenevievesMom, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the census, it will bring you to LDS for 1881 census ONLY. Then you can search by province and district ... and its really fast. Please try again ... and good luck!

  2. I am experiencing the same problem with a few. You can always e-mail the library of the town she was born in. Same with newspaper archives that you can search on the Internet.

The info available to  us is not perfect- try different spellings and opposite s*x. Good luck.

  3. We all would.  You just have to post the information you know here.

  4. ditto on what Joyce said.. the whole point of us being here, is to help out.  You need to post the specifics, for us to do that.

All of the regulars go beyond, and help "off board". It really is more to YOUR advantage to open it to everyone, and benefit from numerous persons and experience.
