This restaurant is on the wharf and is a fabulous sea food place (the best calamari ever!) As you enter, it is very rustic and looks somewhat like the inside of a ship might look. The wood is very dark. We went up some small and curving steps to the level we ate on. I am not sure if there are 2 or 3 floors to this place. It was very crowded, and I believe the bar was just as you went in........in front and to the left. It was so good, and I need to know the name of it, as I was with a tour, and we were on a bus on a dark and rainy night, and I could not see well. I want to go back there on my own!

"Originally called "Cafè de les 7 Portes", this establishment opened in 1836. Today the most classic of Barcelona's eating-places. This is certainly the city's most famous paella, which is always perfect. Try also seafood and rice dishes prepared in traditional way like Fideu with prawns, Barcelona rice with ham and cheese, assorted grilled inshore fish or the Zarzuela with lobster...Very large place but regularly full. Can Majo - Barcelona

On the seafront in the Barceloneta area, Can Majo is one of the greatest fish restaurant of Barcelona. We like in this well decorated place to start by sharing tapas of shellfish, then it's quite difficult to choose between the excellent paellas, the fideus...Our favourite is the rice with losbter (take this one if it is difficult for you to choose)... You can try fish of course they are all perfect, and only if you are very hungry taste the traditional Suquet (a pan of monkfish, hake, mussels, clams, prawns and potatoes). Very kind and thoughtful service. In summer, book your table on the terrasse.

Casa Leopoldo is a classic of Barcelona, offering excellent food since 1929. One of Pepe Carvalho's favourite restaurants. It's useless to say that's a gourmet repair. We like very much oxtail and fish dishes specialities: all are a must try. We choose for example El rabo de buey o Los pies de cerdo.

We believe that "Els Pescadors" is one of the finest fish restaurants in Barcelona. Located quite far from the center, in Poble Nou, it worth go there. First for the place on a little square with trees, very pleasant. Then for the dishes, mostly fishes, every plate is a delight try: calamares, gambas, arroz, Suquet dels pescadors, Angler fish fricandó, Tuna with pickled Figueres onions, Hake with romesco bread and leek mousseline sauce...A great contemporary cooking.. Suquet de l'Almirall is specialized in fish and rice dishes. It's a pleasure to appreciate some famous Catalan recipes in this place. Off course beside many tapas you'll have to try the "Suquet" a kind of a huge bowl of steamed shellfish. A very nicely decorated place inside and a charming terrace as well. Better book your table if you want
