I work in a self-employed business with my father. I am looking for the proper term to describe what I do. I basically research different products specific to what we sell and use this information in order to sell new and more popular products. I also manage shipments made and check inventory. I am at a very high position in his company. What would you call this type of a job? I need the actual title.

  1. In my company, it's called CBD -- Consumer Business Development.

You could be Director, Consumer Business Development.

  2. Is the business a registered company? 'Self-employed' indicates otherwise, or you could be a Director of something.

Research, Sales & Marketing Executive (add Senior or even Chief if you want).

    Executive Assistant.

    General Manager.

    Director of Operations.

You can call yourself anything that makes you feel important enough on your name card, and you can add the letters of any relevant degree or qualification after your name.

  3. a buyer, a planner, or an allocator.
