I need the recipe for the chili dip that Mexicans make to dip mangos into.

Hi! I'm trying to find the recipe for the dip that is sort of tart and has chili in it, that I see at the Mexican shops. It sells with fresh sliced Mangos, and the Mangos are dipped into the sauce and then eaten. It's really a treat and anyone who could teach me that recipe will be much appreciated. Thank you ahead of time!

  1. I was in Playa DC recently and they served mangos that were dipped in chili powder...or red pepper powder.  Surprisingly good.


  2. I N G R E D I E N T S    FOR TAMARIND SYRUP

    ½ tamarind pod, shelled

    1 tablespoon superfine sugar

    2 teaspoon water

    1 lime, juice only

    splash of white wine

    I N S T R U C T I O N S

    In a small saucepan gently heat the sugar, water, lime juice and wine until the sugar has melted. Add the tamarind and continue to cook until a syrup forms. Add powdered chile piquin, which you can find in Mexican groceries.
