I do not have medical but am in desperate need of therapy. I don't have a ton of money, basically none!! I don't know what to do. Is there such a thing as a non-profit group that gives out therapy for free? Any links or ideas would be greatly appreciative. Thxs.

  1. see the first thing you must recognize is why it has reared its head have you seen a picture or some  one who looks like him, or is that you feel stressed this is where you start. have you spoke to your husband? about any of this, i think you should you do need to talk to some one i am in england and believe it or not you can speak with just ordinary people friends are good but you need strangers there view is better. i would also say that the going out and having little episodes of flashbacks don't help neither i went through some thing similar as a girl this was my grandfather though. so i no some stuff, please also try the write it all down in a letter everything to how and why he did these things to you its his guilt not yours ok you did nothing wrong at all nothing at all and you must start accepting that don't let the thoughts beat your everyday duties as a person, mother, wife ok the very best of luck to you also go to the police with it, can i just say its never to late to file a case against him...xx xx

  2. Take the step and call Rainn,I know it's hard but if you can do this it is one step forward.

    Good luck honey. x

  3. My ex-gf receives free therapy for her son and herself through Easter Seals. Also, see if there is a community mental health center nearby.

    Best of luck to you.

  4. please contact your states social services or human services dept. they will help you.

  5. Without knowing where you live it is hard to come up with exact places for you to go.

Many places have mental health centers that are a sliding few scale which means that they base their fee on your income.

A lot of times therapists will do therapy for a lesser fee if a client needs it. Many will also allow the balance to go without interest to help out.

I know in my town, yes town not city, there are a lot of places to get therapy at a lower rate. Everything from the mental health center to the free medical clinic has free or very low fee therapy. We have a food pantry that also helps out financially for many things and they will work with a person and their therapist so that the pantry covers the fees.

Another group that pays for therapy is local churchs. Most of the time the clergy will give people referrals and then pay for the therapy.

Have you thought about getting on Title IXX? It is part of Medicare in the US that covers mental health charges. To do that you need to go to your local Benefits office for federal benefits. Every county in the country has an office, each state calls them different things. Where I live it is a part of The Department of Family Services.

As far as some links, I will give you some generic links. If I knew the issues you are dealing with I could give you specific links for you.

    www.freedomfromfear.com

They have wonderful people that you can chat with.

    www.depressionchat.com

there is always some one to chat with here

    www.depression-understood.org

    This is a support group

    www.psychnet-uk.com/chat_rooms/mental_...

this is in the UK and the people are extemely nice

    www.mhsanctuary.com/jchat/sancchat.htm

This is for people with any type of mental illness

    www.bipolarworld.net

    If you have bipolar

    www.mentalearth.com

for those who do not have personality disorders, is good for depression, ptsd, bipolar, anxiety, ect.

I would not recommend using a site that has online therapy. First of all, it is illegal for a licensed therapist of any kind to do therapy online. Next you can't be sure who you are talking to.

    Best of Luck!

I just came back to your post - honestly I think that you need to get help fast. If I were you I would get to the nearest hospital and check myself in to the psych ward. This will give you a safe place to talk to a therapist or psychiatrist tonight. Using this site is okay to get some ideas but from what you are describing you need to get face-to-face help.

Please get some professional face-to-face help as soon as possible!!!

  6. call your nearest hospital and talk to a mental health case worker and they should be able to help you more than this site could.
