I need tips 2 take my mind off of cutting myself, or things to make me feel better when i get those urges...?

im trying to stop cutting myself...so im asking people tips, please help if you can, no haters please, thnx

I'm really sorry that you've been having the urge to cut yourself......that must be so hard to deal with every day.  You're doing the right thing in trying to figure out how to stop.  You may want to consider tallking to a therapist about it.  Sometimes a brain gets sick just like a body and a doctor who specializes in talk therapy can really be a huge help.

    If you don't want to do that, then try to do what's called "behavior modification".  You pick something that you associate with good feelings.....like one of your favorite things to do....and then you substitute it for the bad actions - your cutting.  Like, if there's a really great song that you love, one that makes you feel good about yourself, try listening to it whenever you feel like you need to cut yourself.  If you like reading, get a good book and read to take your mind off of cutting.  Or take a pet for a long walk in a park.  Maybe you could even try volunteering somewhere so that you can feel good about yourself for helping other people.  I think that one key to getting help is to figure out why you need to cut yourself.  You need to search for things that make you happy with yourself and that show you what an awesome person you are.  That way, you will want to take care of your body and not hurt it anymore.  I really hope you find what you need!

I really hate to hear you are doing this to yourself.  Is there anything you like to do, like jigsaw puzzles, search words, suduko, etc. I have found that if I keep myself busy doing something to keep my mind off my 'overeating', it really helps.  I am not a hater.  Just know that Jesus loves you and He can help you with this too, if you will let Him.  I don't know if you are a religious person, but He has helped me thru many things.     Do some exercise the endophines will increase your mood

    Answer some questions on answers it may make you feel better

    learn to love yourself a little more and get some help.... tell someone like a teacher or parent etc. also try and look for the reason why you are wanting to do this has something happened that you dont like cause when you find the cause you may be able to avoid it
