I need tips... Acting? Read please

Question

Well, see, I want to be a professional actress. My parents don't have the money to get me lessons, though. My bff takes really good ones, and she offered to help, and I said okay. So, for lessons, thats as far as I can go.

I know I can act, I have heard I am really good at it. Its overcoming my nerves that I need real help with.

Also, I have thought often about what kind of stuff I would like to do, and I have decided that Disney Chanel is not for me. Anything but Disney or Nick. I know, I shouldn't be picky. And if I had the oppertunity, I wouldn't say no. I just would rather do other stuff.

Does anyone know how I get started?

Depending on where you live, you will probably have some community theater. Find out community theaters have auditions. You could probably go into any search engine, type your city and auditions.

Do a lot of community theater gets you 'lessons'  in a sense, and you can start building your resume as well.

There's a lot of rejection, but it takes time to work your way in.

Start looking for opportunities locally.  I am sure that near by there are community productions.  I live in a small town 25 miles from a large city.  today's paper had casting listings for 2 plays and a musical. Take any part offered.  These are not going to pay in $ but will get you started.

Well...you could start a bank account...and when its time...you should register to go to college at julliard...its a performing arts school...i've heard that many people get discovered there...the school is not easy to get into...but if you keep up your practice sessions with your friends...you will improve...and be better than you are now.

every state has a board for movies. for a movie director to get a permit to film in that state they will have to go through them. i dont know what it is called but all states have a different name. you can look it up on line and see where they are filming, something might be close to you. and you can sign up to be an extra. they will dress you they will feed you and they will $$$$ pay you. and you just might catch your self in a film on the big screen. what im getting at is if you have things like that under your belt on your resume it will make you stand out. you never know you might catch some ones eye and they might really want you in a movie big part. i have seen it happen.
