  1. For ground hockey it's a little different than Ice hockey, Unless you have a good set of pads that don;t hurt when you go down on your knees then you will want to play a stand up style. Remember come out and Challenge and you will give them less of a chance to score than they are willing. If they do beat you stick your stick in the way and that will. Help also focus on the speed of the ball it will be going faster than you think. And remember to have fun this is the most important thing. Because if you get down on yourself then you will do worse then you actually will...

  2. haha i play forward but once i went in net in road hockey and this is the advise one of my friends gave me.

the point of being a goalie is to stop the ball from going into the net and to stand in between the posts.

ya i know its the worst advise ever :P

but seriously, when someone is about to shoot u should challenge them and come out of the net so u cover more of it and when someone is about u deck u should stay back into ur net and try to save it. lastly make sure u cover the rebounds!!

    good luck bro :)

  3. Ha Ha. I'm an ice hockey goalie and i have been playing for around 6 years.

There are a few differences between ice and ground hockey but the style of play is similar. When you are in the net, make sure to stay square to the puck. That means you should keep your shoulders, torso, and skates/shoes facing the puck at all times unless the puck is: 1.Behind the net(you should NEVER put your back to the play, but also never turn completely around) or 2. In your offensive zone(the other end of the ice at which you score on).

I'm guessing that you play with a glove, blocker, stick, and leg pads. If  you have a good set of pads, that will make making saves that much easier. When you drop to your knees to make a save, your legs should flare out making a "V" shape.

The goalie position is a very important key piece in your "goalie toolbox". You should stand facing the puck, with square shoulders, with bent knees with your feet at the same distance apart as your shoulders. Your stick should be about 3 inches out from your feet, and at a slight angle in towards your body.

I really hope that this information helps you get started playing. Strong legs, good hand-eye coordination, and a good sense of hockey knowledge is very helpful too. Good luck with your hockey career, and i hope you stick with it.

  4. when u see a puck comming near the net, try to stop it :]

  5. when you save the puck and you are down on your knees..get right back up..UNLESS your opponents are looking for a rebound and poking at your pads..
