  1. Whenever I need to write a speech, I try to evoke a human emotional response to one particular story and run the theme throughout the speech.

But I ain't that smart. I didn't invent that method of speechwriting. I listened to speeches by JFK, MLK jr, Hitler, Lenin, Churchill, all of which were brilliant orators. Listen to their speeches online and you will notice how they weave a single story throughout their speech to have listeners clinging for each word forthcoming. It's a great style and can be used in a varuety of ways.

    Good luck on your speechwriting.

  2. i added more to my question if you would like to help me.

  3. Sure, I was a communications major. One of the most important things to remember when giving a speech is to maybe have a paper in front of you to see what you've written but you must look up enough to not seem like you are reading. I had professors that really didn't like it when students would write something, get up and just read it. They want to see passion and be able to be persuaded, that your speech may even change the way they feel about a certain topic. As for this topic, be the change in the world, I think a reference to Obama and his definition of change, as well as actual definitions of change and quotes about change would help make the speech come alive. As for writing, some research about change certainly wouldn't hurt. Since this is an inspirational speech you definitely want to play on the heart strings of your audience, so citing something that would motivate your audience to change may also help. Best of luck with your speech.
