My husband and I have bee trying for 6 months now, and it is so disappointing every time I start my period. It's not like there is a lack of s*x happening here. Every once in a while it doesn't work out to have intercourse but for the most part we do it once a night, more on the weekends.:-) Does any one have any tips, maybe a vitamin that helps or s*x positions that are better than others? I really want a baby.

  4. Hi Sarah R,

Six months seems like forever I know when you really want a baby but don't lose hope, it really can take that long, actually longer for many couples.

You say you are having intercourse once a night and more so on the weekends, if this were around ovulation that is a good thing however too many attempts at conception can be counter productive surprisingly enough. There are some critical days during your cycle that you need to make your conception attempts fall in line with, these are the few days prior to ovulation.

Ensuring you are accurately predicting ovulation is very important. Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs) can help tremendously with this, they are definitely worth investing in...although you don't need to use the dearer ones, the cheap options are fine once you get the hang of it.

Someone else suggested preconception vitamins, this is an excellent way of boosting your fertility. Reproduction is a delicate and complex process that relies on balanced hormones. Good nutritional status will directly impact your hormones so preconception vitamins are a must. Try to purchase vitamin and mineral supplements specifically for preconception as they will have greater quantities of the vital elements you need for good reproductive health.

    Good luck.

  5. Are you taking PreNatels  if not start them and try buying Folic acid sseparatelyand don'tstress over getting pregers that doesnt help the process

  6. First, find out when you most likely ovulate. I find the ovulation kits helpful and accurate. Make it also an intimate moment not a task, it helps. After you guys are done, lay there and put a pillow under your hips and fall asleep. Although i know the tricks, my husband and I have been trying for 12 month now.

    Good luck to you.

  7. We tried for about 6 months when I finally got pregnant.  What I found to work for me is taking prenatal vitamins, and not let the details bog things down.  When I finally forgot about when I was ovulating, and how many days past my last period...I was able to enjoy and please my spouse more.  Most people would say don't do woman on top, but I think that is what worked for us.

Best of luck to you, hopefully your blessing is on his/her way.

  8. They have this new pregnancy test thing it helps you find out when you are most fertile. I'm not sure what they are called. Or you can try this web site its a calculator that tells you when you are most fertile...

    GOOD LUCK!!

  9. You need to be on prenatal vitamins.  You can buy them over the counter at Walmart.  I also heard that s*x daily can lower his sperm count, so maybe back off to once every other day.  Also focus a lot on days 11 to 19 - as that should be your most fertile period (day 1 being the first day of your period).  Generally they won't do any testing until you've been trying a full year.  You could also try charting your temp by using a basal body thermometer.  You can purchase that at Walmart for about $9.  Good luck and I hope you are able to acheive pregnancy soon!

  10. have a talk with your doctor. make sure your eggs and his little soldiers are ok. for real now b, every single night??? DANG. am not even going to bother ask. just do that though aight.

  11. How to get Pregnant Faster – Top Ten Tips

    1. Have s*x three times a week.

Having regular s*x is the best way to get pregnant. Couples often try to time everything perfectly for ovulation but do not have s*x when they think they are not ovulating. It is true that s*x that is not within the time of ovulation will not result in pregnancy. However, because women do not always ovulate when they think they will, having s*x three times a week will help to a woman cover her bases, so to speak, and not miss an opportunity to get pregnant.

    2. Use an ovulation prediction kit or fertility monitor.

Using an ovulation kit to predict when you are ovulating will improve your chances of getting pregnant. For many women charting or other methods of ovulation prediction are too confusing. Ovulation prediction kits work by reading LH surges prior to ovulation. They are relatively easy to use and are generally accurate for predicting ovulation. Fertility monitors, such as the Clear Blue Easy monitor, are also a worthwhile investment if you would like to get pregnant faster. Fertility monitors are similar to ovulation prediction kits in that they read changes in LH but they also read changes in other hormones and don’t require any guesswork for couples. They are easy to use and will tell you when the best time to get pregnant is.

    3. Have s*x before ovulation (not after).

Sometimes couples get confused about the best time to have s*x in relationship to ovulation. You have a small window of time each month to get pregnant. After a woman ovulates the egg will survive approximately 24 hours. Sperm, on the other hand, will live for up to three to five days. This is why having s*x two to three days before ovulation will increase your chances of getting pregnant. Don’t wait until the day you ovulate to have s*x. Your partner’s sperm will last longer than your egg and you don’t want to miss an opportunity by waiting.

    4. Don’t rely on the Calendar method for predicting ovulation.

A lot of couples have heard to have s*x around day fourteen of your cycle. This is based on the calendar method and assumes that you have a regular 28-day cycle and ovulate mid-cycle. Although this is better than just picking an arbitrary day to have s*x, it is not a very accurate way to predict when you ovulate. Many women do not ovulate on day fourteen and knowing precisely when you ovulate will help you time intercourse better. Ovulation prediction kits, looking at previous months bbt charts, or watching for body cues will help you to determine when you ovulate.

    5. Charting may not be the best way to predict ovulation.

Charting is great for tracking your cycle but it does have disadvantages. By the time you can see ovulation on a bbt chart, you have already ovulated. It is good to chart so you can track your cycles, see if you ovulate the same time each month, and also so you can look back on your cycle and see if you timed things right. But if this is your first cycle trying to get pregnant or if you are not ovulating at the same time each month, an ovulation prediction kit would be more helpful.

    6. See a doctor before you start trying to get pregnant.

Make sure you are in good health and have had a regular check up from your OBGYN or medical provider. Untreated infections, sexually transmitted diseases, or poor health can affect your chances of getting pregnant. Its good to see a doctor as well as start taking prenatal vitamins prior to trying to conceive.

    7. Don’t smoke, drink alcohol, or abuse drugs when trying to get pregnant.

This may seem like common sense but many women do try to get pregnant while smoking, drinking or using drugs. Smoking, drugs, and alcohol can affect your fertility. It will also affect your unborn child. It is important to stop smoking or using drugs and alcohol before getting pregnant and not wait until you find out you are pregnant.

    8. Have enjoyable s*x.

Sometimes when couples are trying to conceive, s*x becomes a job or function of reproduction and is not as enjoyable. Plan a romantic evening or try something different to spice things up. How you are feeling sexually may factor into your chances of getting pregnant. Some researchers believe that having an o****m during s*x increases your chances of getting pregnant. For women, the spasmic movements of o****m will help pull the sperm into the uterus and for men a better o****m may increase the man’s sperm count.

    9. Have s*x in positions that keep sperm inside the v****a longer.

The missionary position is a good position to use when trying to get pregnant. Avoid positions where the woman is on top. Gravity will allow sperm to leak out with these positions. Also try placing a pillow under your hips to help tilt your pelvis and keep the sperm in longer. Don’t get up right after s*x. Try to relax and allow the sperm to stay in the v****a as long as possible.

    10. There is no such thing as trying too hard to get pregnant.

  12. We tried for 8 months after our son was born. I didn't get pregnant until I relaxed and stopped thinking about it sooo much. Make sure your on the bottom- I put 3 pillows under my legs after s*x also. Time your ovulation and take vitamins.

I will send baby vibes your way from my tummy to yours!

  13. they say if ur having s*x more than ones a day the only sperm that does anything is the first time and when ur having s*x multiple times a day every day ur husband has not had the time to build up his sperm count so maybe u should try every other day

  14. RELAX!!! people always say to have s*x everyother day for a month The simplest suggestion sometimes seems like the most impossible when your hopes have been raised and dashed for months at a time. Studies have shown that stress can complicate fertility issues for both men and women. To aid in removing or lowering stress levels, consider joining a support group for couple who are having fertility issues. Negative thoughts such as, ?I will never have a baby? should be deliberately replaced with more positive ideas. Yoga and breathing techniques are an excellent way to cope with daily stressors.

Knowing when you are about to ovulate is the key factor in knowing when to have s*x. There are many wonderful techniques and products designed to pinpoint ovulation.

                               HERES MY TIPS

If you or your partner is smoking, drinking, or using illegal substances then you should quit now. Not only is it very unhealthy for an unborn child, these habits have also been show to have a negative effect on fertility in men and women.

Practice sexual positions that are more likely to help sperm swim up the v****a. The missionary position seems to be most helpful in this situation. Avoid any positions that have you sitting, standing, straddling, or on top of your partner.

Putting a pillow under your hips during s*x or allows the sperm extra time to travel to the cervix. Make sure the pillow does not prop your hips to high, or the sperm may end up sitting behind the cervix.

If your cervix is tipped or tilted, making love with your partner behind you may allow sperm a better opportunity to reach the cervix.

Make love in the early morning or afternoon. Sperm levels are often highest in the mornings.

Enjoy the lovemaking process. Studies show that when women o****m, it creates an alkaline state in the v****a that sperm prefer over the normal acid conditions. If you have an o****m at the same time or shortly after your partner ejaculates, it increases the opportunity for sperm to survive the trip to the cervix.

Your partner should avoid overheating or constricting his testicles. Some studies have shown that sperm counts drop when men wear tight pants or underwear. He should also avoid saunas and hot tubs.

According to an Environmental Health Services study, the more s*x you have, the greater your chances of becoming pregnant. But don't have so much s*x that you begin to dread having it. s*x should be enjoyable for both parties.

             LAST THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

Cut back on dairy products. A sugar found in milk known as galactose has been proven harmful to function of ovaries. Some women do not have normal amounts of the enzyme needed to break up galactose causing it to build up to dangerous levels in the body. It is recommended that you skip milk, ice cream, yogurt, and cottage cheese. Other foods that offer calcium are green leafy vegetables, beans, enriched flour, and fortified juices. If necessary, calcium supplements may be added.

  15. you can take prenatal vitamins, but that doesn't improve you fertility....it just helps the baby when you do get pregnant...there are some kind of vitamins to help improve fertility....but i would say leave it up to God. thats what I'm doing.

and also...my story...i was trying for 5 months too and then i gave up and didnt try at all and boom, guess what i got pregnant right away....people say its because of the stress that you have when you try to conceive....its very sensitive...you dont even notice that you have stress, but your uterus and eggs notice if you just have a tiny bit of stress. and apparantly trying too hard to conceive is stress...try what i did first for 1 or 2 months, and if not than go see a doctor and tell him all about you and he might give you the fertility vitamin.
