I need to beable to run a mile by Wednesday?

We have to run a mile for Field Hockey on Wednesday and I need help. I haven't run since May and I was pretty slow then. I need help beacuse I dont want to make a fool in front of myself.

  1. The best thing you could do is go for a run...now. Grab an iPod and run around a few blocks and add a few blocks everyday until weds. Make sure to stretch before and after. There is no question here, just a lack of motivation.

If you're honestly not capable of it now, you don't have time to change that in 4 days.  You can try to jog it now and every day until then but you don't really get much conditioning that quickly.  Other than that, eat and sleep well and be sure you've had plenty of gatorade or powerade before the run (not enough that you slosh and make yourself sick, just enough to be sure you're hydrated and have some quick energy available).

  3. Advice to run a mile? Well, fitness is a progressive thing. You can't expect to be able to run for miles without stop if you don't do that regularly. So pace yourself

  4. Run as hard as you can. Today, and Monday.. then on tuesday just stretch and work on hydrating yourself. Water and gatorade. Have pasta for dinner, but dont eat too late. Stay away from citrus the night before and the day of. Then when it comes to the run, just suck it up and run.

  5. dont train too hard for it. you'll only be more sore by then. take an easy 1 mile jog today and tomorrow. rest monday, jog tuesday.

    There was an episode of bernie mac where he did this and had to forfeit cause he was all sore
