you might have a problem since Amtrak doesnt service

Chino (the closest train station would be Pomona or Ontario

but those are only service very in frequently but Metrolink does

service those stations though)

but I would suggest Los Angeles Union station

there you can take the Starlight direct to San Jose or you could

take the Pacific Surfliner to either Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo and then switch to a Amtrak bus for the rest of the way to San Jose

Here is a page from Amtrak where you can type in your starting point and the destination . It will lead you to a page showing available times . Also , on this page , you can look under the rectangular box listing routes. There are at least 3 regular Amtrak routes in California.
