I need to build a better team in pokemon diamond, who should i put in it?

i have a pretty good team already but everybody most pokemon in it are legendaries and lots of ppl say i should get rid of them, so im trying to make a better team with not legendaries. i am goin to keep my dragonite adn my empoleon but i dont know who else i should put in. i want a good team with different types of pokemon. i am open to any sugestions.
