  1. Hi, not sure why you would need to buy a 240v transformer for visiting NZ from Australia as NZ has the same power output as Australia and all electrical products can be used exactly the same.

    If you still want to get a transformer then any d**k Smith, Tandy stores will sell them.


  2. I'm not sure that putting this question under Auckland will get you as many answers as you would like. It's really a question that should be addressed to your fellow Americans. (People from Australasia may assume that WA stands for Western Australia).

    The only place I can suggest is Walmart, which stocks the 'PowerLine Global Power Travel Voltage Converter' - costing around US$20. Unfortunately, a quick search of Walmart's website (see link) showed that a number of stores are out of stock (including the website itself).  However, I would have thought that any decent large electronics retailer will be able to provide a voltage converter for travel purposes.
