  How about a bunch of gift certificates  to McDonald"s, all kids love going there. I also think he would love the movie Transformers, i saw it and loved it , how they can change into so many different things.

Why not play it safe and make your gift a trip to Toys R Us or some similar place. Set a price limit but let him choose. Boys at that age really like to know they are being allowed to pick their own purchase. It makes them feel like big boys. Plus you are a hero, because you're the one that takes him on his own personal shopping spree. Make it even more fun by writing a note on a card, and then putting it in a box that's a bit bigger and he has to un wrap. He must be a very special little man for you to ask for ideas.

My favorite gift as a child was the "adultish" type gift...  a set of tools... screwdrivers and such...

but thats just me... its a tough call, since you sound like you know little about this kid...

Get him some knowledge book, and read it for him or teach him what is inside (summary of it)

Get him some musical instrument, and let him learn.

It can help develop his brain well.

Webkinz are definitely an option, they appeal to a wide variety of people and there are very enjoyable, another option would be a giftcard. You can never go wrong with a giftcard, this way the gift reciever will be able to pick out what they want.. I suggest getting giftcards to stores like Toys R Us, Walmart, or even a small toy store near where you live
