Question:

I need to buy a new basic laptop - what should I get or look for?

basically want to use it for the following:

- check my email

- check face book

- download songs onto my itunes

- play DVDs

So I don't need it for much - just would be good to have my own. I have a external hard drive that will hold all my photo's and music, so I'm not too worried about memory. I have looked at the £399.00 Dell that seems to be ok.

Also my budget is between £300 - £450, but would preferably like to spend below £400.

Any help would be appreciated, as I'm not the most technological of people.

Thanks.

  1. Minimum Specs I would recommend:

    1.5Ghz processor (preferrably dual core)

    512RAM

80gig hard drive - depending on how much music you have, maybe more

    Wifi enabled

and most importantly - a GOOD BATTERY

You should always get the best you can afford. You'll find the more you use it, the more you need it and a basic spec will outgrow you quickly.

I recommend www.morgancomputers.co.uk who specialise in end-of-line computers, and they tend to be dirt cheap.
