  1. you've got to go oakley if your a freeskier the crowbars the best and they have a huge selection of lens

  2. My friend told me that double lens is the best because it wont break as easily if you fall. He had one that wasnt double lens and lent it to another friend. That friend fell on the snow and broke the goggle. I also have heard that yellow and brown tins are the best for all levels of light.

    good article on choosing googles:

  3. Double lens and anti fog are both very important.  The set that fits your face over any glasses and are comfortable is the most desirable.  Lens color will depend on what type slope you ski. If there are open glades and few trees, then a tint that will give depth to the snow is the correct choice. Typical flat light is when most red and yellow frequencies have been bent out of range.  Most goggles today have UV blockage to some extent, it is more promoted by some makers than others.  The fit and lens color are most important, many have different color lenses in the same model, you just need to shop around.

  4. I'd go for Anon, they do really good goggles. The best coloured lens to go with is a rose tinted, this lens is pretty good for daylight and flat light, I sometimes use a yellow tinted lens too which works well. For total sunshine you should also go for a mirrored lens too. All lenses pretty much have UV protection for the eyes unless they are just clear ones. Look on Anons website and it will tell you all about the different lenses. Alot of goggles come with 2 seperate lenses so you can change them if you wish.

There are loads of different goggle brands to go for though, IS Design, Oakley, Adidas, Smith, Dragon, Von Zipper, and many more, I have anon which I like the best, they do some really funky designs and I like the shape of their various frames.

  5. If you will be skiing exclusively during the day, I would get a darker mirrored lens.  It will really help reduce glare if it is sunny.  Ask people at your local mountain what they recommend, they will know the conditions better than anyone on here.
