To call Australia you have to do 00 61 or +61 from your mobile than the #.  If you are calling a mobile over there take away the 0.  The country code for Australia is 61

Have you looked in to Skype?

There are a lot of websites that sell International minutes for good rates too. If Skype isn't an option, try looking for a site. Make sure it's not going to rip you off though...
