I need to change my shocks on my car, i bought the shocks but i need to change the coil springs also, what is the proper term for the springs. I'm trying to buy the part online but i dont know what to call it. Im not good on shocks and springs and such, any info will be great

they are just what you called them springs.

you need the coil springs and a spring compressor. a set of j-hooks is what you need. auto zone rents the spring compressor.

they are called struts and you will need the tool to remove the spring or take it to a shop and they will do it
