I need to change the Bandwidth on my computer because my music keeps skipping but I cant figure it out HELP?

I am streaming music over the internet on Yahoo Music box. When I read the troubleshooting guide it keeps telling me to lower the bandwidth.

U not understand.  Bandwidth like one big pipe. U can only get so much water through pipe.  More water, wider pipe needed.  Streaming music like water.  If pipe busy with other water, streaming water not get through fast enough to keep player happy.  Unhappy player cause skips and buffering messages.  To keep player happen, don't do other things that fill up pipe or keep CPU busy, busy.  Let streaming music flow gently through the pipe and into your ears.

I usually not the bandwidth that causes skipping.  Its the soundcard.  But if you are streaming music across the net then most likely it could be a bandwidth issue to cause it to buffer.

But if its local, then its your soundcard.  I need more info.

Bandwidth is a set amount of space on your cable. Only your service provider can change it for you.

Try this....

Go to Start --> Control Panel

Select Network and internet connections

Select Network Connections

Right click on local area connection or wireless connection..whichever you use...and select properties

Click on configure

Go to advanced tab

click on Speed and Duplex and select the highest setting...usually 100 MB Full or Full Duplex
