I have two credit cards from college that I needed to pay for living expenses, books, classes, etc. I haven't use either card in several years and never even activated either once the first cards expired. I've been paying about the min. balance but the interest is killing me. Any ideas on good companies to use where I can combine the two with no APR for like a year so I can get them paid down quickly?

  1. you should have a balance transfer option, but ask your bank/credit company to see what options they have for you.

  2. First, know your FICO score. If you have a good score like above 700 or 720, try to apply for another (JUST APPLY FOR ONE, NO MORE) credit card that offers special intro 0% interest rate. But make sure the special term (months, or a year term) is long enough for you to pay off your balance. Also make sure after the special intro period, the interest will be a VERY LOW & FIXED INTEREST RATE. That would be good for future EMERGENCY uses. Go go www.bankrate.com to find a low interest rate credit card, but do remember, you need a GOOD FICO SCORE FIRST. Good luck!!

p.s. Don't forget to read the fine prints BEFORE you apply also, be very detail oriented.

  3. www.creditcard.com   apply for a card with 0%

on a balance transfer. Then call your CC and ask them to reduce an interest rate, or you will do a balance transfer to another card. Good Luck!
