  1. This is a horribly oversimplified question...

The skull, which is made up of a number of bones, protects the brain.  Among the bones in the skull are the frontal, parietals, occipital, temporal, sphenoid, maxillae, mandible, nasal, ethmoid.  You have more than five bones protecting your brain, alone.

The spinal column, made up of the vertebrae, protects the spinal cord.

The ribs protect the heart, lungs, stomach, spleen, liver, etc.  The rib CAGE is formed by the thoracic spine, the ribs, and the sternum.  There are two pairs of ribs that don't join back up at the front to complete the cage, and two other pairs only join by way of cartilagenous extensions.

The pelvis, made up of the ilia, ischia and sacrum, protect the pelvic contents (lower intestines, bladder, reproductive, etc.)

I don't know if that is where you're going...

  2. Skull - brain

    Ribs - lungs

    Sternum - heart

    Pelvis - Intestines, reproductive organs

    Spine - spinal cord

You could argue the jaw, scapula (shoulderblades) and that the skull, ribs and spine are made of MANY bones each

You could even inclue our tailbone...protects your rearside I suppose
