I need to connect a caller i.d. box to this older phone...HELP!!?

the phone snaps directly into the wallplate-there is no connecting cable. on the back of the phone is a 'male' connection that snaps straight into the hole in the wall plate. i need an adapter to turn this into a female connection in order to connect it to the caller i.d.box. is there a such thing? if so what is it called so i don't look like a dummy when i go to radio shack.

Yes there is it is called a caller id dicplay i use one on my old phone or you can buy a new caller id phone fpr 30 dollers or get a caller id box for 19.99 here is one i use sleek and stylish

Listen people!!!, he said his DAD will not replace the phone.

There are adapters.  It is a wall plate that snaps over the existing wall plate the phone mounts  as usual and there is a jack built on the edge for another line to plug into.

Go to Radio Shack and tell the person what you want.  Or order one from the site I have attached,

You just need one of those small adapters that connects two male telephone jacks together. People usually use those to connect two telephone cables together, but itll work for this too.
