I have purchased a splitter and connected the dvd and set top box with it and can get some tv pictures through the recorder but no colour. What are the blue and green jack holes for on the back of the TV. Any help would be appreciated before I call a service man.

  1. red, green, blue jacks are for COMPONENT video

you need to connect ALL three for the video to work

  2. All but the tv will have a signal input and output, run cable to first device input and from output to next input, last output goes to tv input.

The jacks on the tv are for audio and video INPUT.

Once you have it hooked up set simply turn on the device(s) you want to use.

Your set top box should be first in line and your tv last.

You should set your tv to monitor or aux.
