I need to connect two short ethernet cords together to make one longer one how could i do this?

  1. Yes, an RJ45-8 pin double female connector, available at your local RadioShack, or any other reputable electronics store that deals with wiring for networks.


  2. depending on how long the cable needs to be, it may be less expensive to buy a new longer cable than to buy a coupler. plus the coupler adds a point of failure.

  3. Everybody has old hubs lying around these days, mainly because most people use switches and routers which are more efficient. Find an old hub and plug both cables into that.

    You might be able to find some at Best Buy and similar electronics stores. Just ask for a female-to-female ethernet coupler.

  5. both cords would have to be spliced then add the 2 way splitter size would be about 5.900mhz
