I need to contest a wake violation, but i live in CA and I got the ticket in NV

Ya i got a wake violation in NV and I came home, I called them and they are charging me $185, which is not fair at all, i want to contest the violation, but they are telling me to contest I need to go back to lake havaseu city, which obiously I cant, is there a way to get out of it please, this is the first time i ever went jet skiing in my life, and the dumbass officer gave me a offense for 185 dollars.

so please help me i cant afford to pay this amount

  1. who's the dumb^$$? the cop that gave the ticket or the newbie jet skier that didnt know or follow the law? get over it and count yourself lucky you weren't on tru-TV's show party heat: lake havasu, where the whole world could see you not knowing what you're doing and claiming ignorance as an excuse.  


  2. You need to request a court date, and return to Nevada. You have to go to trial before a judge to argue your case. You won't win either. In one of your previous questions, a poster told you that not paying the citation will hurt your credit score. He was right. It's better to pay the fine than to have that bite you in the butt later on. Sorry, but there's no way around it. I've never tried these guys, but busy people use them. Wouldn't hurt to contact them.

  3. it depends in different cities, but I wuld call a lawyer who handles traffic violations and see what his opinion would be.  I know in Texas you can hire a laywer to constantly reschdule the court appearance til the ticket get dropped
