  1. its their choice to become vegetarian/vegan do not force them into making that life decision.

you do not want to know what is in hot dogs.

  2. You shouldnt force people to do what they dont want to do first and foremost and if they dont want to be then leave them and respect them for who they are as much as they respect you for being a vegan but if you want to help incorporate vegan foods for your dinners here are some books

  3. i support your decition to do this, but you cant force your opinions on others.

you can do your best to help them make healthy choices.  explain to them why youve chosen to be vegitarian/vegan, and how you feel better because. . .

and that can help them switch.  also tell them how to do it, they may think its harder then it actually is.

  4. Honestly, I find that the best approach to "converting" people is a laid-back, non-judgmental approach.  No one is going to go vegan (or vegetarian) because you harass them about it, and very few people are going to go vegan because of some gross videos.

It's going to take time, probably a lot of it, but you should just be open about talking about your beliefs and feelings, but only when they are interested and ask you about it.  Don't force them to listen--that's just going to put them off.

And the number one most important thing you can do..... cook dinner for them, often.  Most people will accept pretty much any food they don't have to prepare, as long as it's not disgusting.  Get some cookbooks, pick some good and not scary recipes, and make them.  Also, try some good vegan deserts; people are won over to the vegan diet a lot easier when they realize they won't have to give up delicious cupcakes.

  5. I am  a vegan !!! Go to peta.org watch some of the investigations of a slaughter house and trust me once they see it they will never eat meat again! Good luck and hotdogs are made out of everything that is leftover from when they kill the animal for bacon and pork products!

  6. One of the many things that convinced me that Veganism was the way to go was a Video called "Meet your Meat" this video is offered on youtube. It is very likely that after your mom and sister veiw this horrible video that they will see the cruelty animals go through in slughter houses. Also if they doubt that you can not get proper nutrients with veganism, brush up on your facts and be ready to support your reasons for becoming a Vegan.

THis website gives you an overview of how easy it can be to supply proper nutrients to your body while becoming a vegan

    http://www.vegsoc.org/info/vegan-nutriti...

here is the link for the "Meet your Meat" Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIjanhKqV...

    Good Luck!

  7. I know how you feel. I am veg. and my brothers are jerks and always pretend to sneak meat into my food and they eat meat and say mmmmmmmmm a cow or something like that. I hate them very much. o.0

  8. -hot dogs are all the left over from the farm

-i'm a vegan and honestly you can't convince people to stop eating meat.

you can be the best vegan you can be and fight hard for your beliefs, but you can't make people stop eating something

stop trying... people learn by example... and the vegan lifestyle CHOICE isn't for everybody...

    let the thumb downs begin

  9. look I have friends who are vegan and friends who are vegitarian and each time one of them tried to get me into their style of thinking it pissed me off greatly I don't mind who they are so leave my choices out of it. I had to watch Peta video's where pigs where getting slaughtered and them asking me if I felt bad. I told them Exactly how I felt. I said no I didn't feel bad at all. Cause it was my food and had to die to become my food. How it is done doesn't bother me at all. Then they asked me what would I do if that where me. I said it's not me and when Aliens invade and start eating humans I might give it a second thought but we will cross that bridge when we get to it. Don't try and change them it just alienates people. By all means be who YOU want to be but leave other people out of it. Just cause they eat meat doesn't make them any less of a person. If you think so then you have some issues to Iron out. Don't force people to be who you want them to be.

  10. It's their choice on whether or not they want to eat meat.

But introduce them to the Peta2.com website. It's really helpful, and if you take a special interest in Peta volunteer work or just animal rights-work in general, maybe they'll see what's up.

Hey, my parents became vegetarians just because they saw how much weight I was losing by doing so.  :)

  11. tell them that the animals are dying every day and when they put meat in their mouths it is not always clean the meat is not fresh. because they rinse the blood out in cold water when they should rinse it out in hot water

  12. i am a vegetarian and my fam is fine with me being one but have no intention of going meat-free or vegan. i'm not vegan thoguh.. but they love animals, they're just used to it. i stopped at a young age. there's this one KFC video that shows how a chicken is killed and made into disguting meat patties. i'd say go on peta and search, some even make me cry!!!! it's so sad, and way to go!! the world needs people like you and i to make changes.

aslo, that's good yo ugot her to stop eating beef + the making of beef contributes to global warming, so i think it's relaly dumb. there is so much more out there to eat, it's redick.

    goodluck!

  13. you can't force people to be a vegan..it's their choice..all you can do is just let them know what is the benefit to be a vegan. or maybe you can ask them to try to be a vegan for 2 weeks a let them see the result

  14. When someone feels very passionate about something, it is only natural that they would want to share this with others in their life. However, you cannot force people to think the way you do, or behave a certain way.

If your mother and sister are interested in learning about your vegetarian diet, or how you feel about it, than that is fine, but it is not beneficial to try and gross them out, or make them feel guilty for their choices. You need to accept people for who they are, the same as you would want them to accept you. I personally think that your insistence and the way you are planning to go about it(telling them all the horror stories, googling the videos, etc), is just going to cause tension and a rift between you and your mother and sister. No one wants to be bombarded with someone else's belief system.

Let your family come to a decision on their own. Cook and share great vegetarian meals with them, that is the best way to sway their opinion. I myself and a vegetarian and the rest of my family eats meat. i would never try and push my beliefs on them, I simply respect them too much, and in return I am afforded the same respect by them.

You sound very young and enthusiastic(which is a great thing), but do not let it cause a wedge between you and everyone else around you.

  15. You shouldn't try to force anyone into becoming a vegetarian or vegan.  Just tell them why you did it and give them facts about what eating certian meat can do.  I don't eat a whole lot of cow meat for two reasons.  One it messes with my stomach and two I'm trying to lose weight.  I tend to stick more to chicken and I bake it, not fried.  The choice is theirs, not yours.

  16. I'm not a vegetarian, but, if I had to try to convince someone to be I'd take them to a slaughterhouse or a meat processing plant.

Hotdogs = All the left overs.

  17. You can't make someone do something they don't want to do. Not everyone agrees with your point of view.

  18. Don't try to convince them. IT will just push them farther away from it if they feel that you are pushing vegetarianism on them. Just tell them that it is the choice you have made for your life, you would like them to support you, and you would LOVE if they would join you

  19. take them to a slaughter house and show them veil. Now just wondering why do you want to be a vegan it is natural to eat meat

  20. Talk to them about how you really think its wrong to kill and eat innocent animals. Other than that, you really can't try to force your beliefs on other people. If you start trying to gross people out when they are eating it, they won't want to be around you. Just try talking to them about it (when they are not eating!) and that is the best you can do. My sisters used to try to gross me out when I was eating it, or tell me disturbing thing. But, it actually delayed me becoming a vegetarin because I felt like mad at them for it. In the end it was just m own thinking about it that made me go vegetarian.

    Good Luck=]

  21. why do extremists always want to take as many people with them as they can

  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTO7UXsdC...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Zz-Ubsn-...

good luck, but some people refuse to change

  23. And just why do you want to do that? Ideologies tend to narrow one's life, and no one has the right to narrow the lives of others.

And, of course, they are enjoying their food a lot more than you do. I know that misery loves company, but don't do it to two people you love!

  24. I don't think you should convince people to change their diet- they're obviously happy with it and I don't understand your purpose behind this.

  25. i would Love to know how to get my parents and siblings to become vegetariens too but they are way too busy to listen to why! and it wouldnt work anyway. even if their the ones who raised me as a vegetarien.. :(

  26. bad idea but good ? ? ?

tell em that people sloter the animals in a unhuman way and some are like reproduced too much and come out wierd

  27. Just talk to them about the health concerns and the cruelty to animals. Don't force it upon them, that will just make them annoyed.

  28. I've tried that to no avail!! I guess some people are just too hooked up on their taste buds to understand how inhumain and wrong animal eating is! They should wanna be vegetarian because of how the animals are treated, not because your persuading them. And hot dogs are made out of the grosses concocktions you can think of! Its like beef mixed with pork all grinded up together with nasty chemicals and things! They're gross!

  29. DO NOT TRY TO PUSH THEM! Tell them how great you feel, show them how healthy you are and how great you look. Cook great veggie food for them so they can see that you can have fantastic meals WITHOUT meat.  But if they really don't want to give up meat, that is their choice just like it is yours to not eat it.

  30. is there a way to convince a staright person to go g*y, and vice versa. If there is then you might have a chance

  31. ok first, you really shouldn't be trying to change their beliefs. if they eat meat they eat meat, you cant change that. but if you want to torture them go to goveg.com they have super graphic videos and it turned my cousin veg.

there are all different types of meat in hotdogs but you can buy all beefs ones like hebrew national. its not just beef in most hotdogs. check out the ingrediants
