I need to cut off diesel from going into the engine?

short story, i unplugged one of the fuel return hose from the injector, because it was leaking, and it turns out to be cracked, now it's leaking diesel around the injector.

i want to cut off fuel supply to the engine, so i can save my diesel until tommorow i get my replacement parts

what can i do

  1. The reason the fuel is leaking is gravity park it up hill and it should stop leaking also remove the fuel tank cap so there is no pressure in the tank good luck.


  2. dont do anything it is just the pressure that was in the system leaking out once done it wont leak any more as long as the key is not turned on

  3. You can put a return line with a schrader valve depressor onto the pressure relief port on the fuel rail and run it back into the tank, that way even if fuel continues to run up to the fuel line any pressure will be diverted back into the tank and will save you from leaking it out all over the place.

  4. why is diesel pumping to the injector if the ignition is turned off. the engine has to be turning over for a mechanical fuel pump, or the ignition has to be on for an electric pump. if the electric pump is still pumping then remove the fuse.

  5. if it is a rubber hose you could clamp it with a pair of grips ,or you could if it is possible to put a tapered biro or something simliar
