  1. I teach preschool and I just had my graduation this past Friday. I presented a slideshow I had made in Powerpoint of pictures I had taken over the past school year set to music from Curious George and a couple Disney movies. It made some of the Moms in the room tear up a bit actually. Of course you would need photos from the school year in order to this. I also had the kids march in to the room to the song of their choice - which happened to have been "We will rock you" by Queen.

Another teacher I work with also had the kids prepare a song to sing for everyone and she read a poem also. My slideshow was about 15 minutes long so I decided not to do that since I knew the kids would get restless if the program ran too long. After I had said a few words I started the slideshow, afterward I gave out their diplomas and we had cake and punch to celebrate.

  2. A choir performance by the children.  Parents love shows and so do the kids!

  3. I recently attended my five-year old twin grand daughter's school end  program and it was wonderful.  They had them on an outdoor stage singing songs along with the tape recorder(this age group needs the full vocal and music back up)  At this age they just sing along, looking cute as can be in little custom outfits -  All of the kids were in dance costumes: girls in cute little skirts and tops and boys with cool vests or suspenders(?)- not all the same but close in style...all different colors just kinda the same era idea..

At the start of the first song, one girl from each side of the stage did summer-saws toward another girl standing center stage...and then all the kids were singing and dancing hands motioning to song lyrics..pointing to heart or sky or whatever...the next song, the girls  in the front row had plastic blow up microphones they picked up during short intro solos...and the rest danced, jumped, and pointed along to the song....the next song many of the kids picked up plastic blowup guitars...really cute..., they were all strumming, dancing and singing away...a lot of dancing and twirling was going on...while a teacher/helper on each side held real microphones and would do the appropriate dance move for their group on that side to mimic (point to heart, sky, doing the swim or paddle motions, or crossing hands on knees...too cute (the coaching being off to each side made a big difference in the quality of the performance-as it didn't interrupt the view of the kids and the kids followed pretty well). There may have been mics mics on either side in front of the stage, but none blocking the kids and the teachers/helpers held microphones toward the stage from the far sides of the stage... .... and the crowd went wild which encouraged the kids to really put out...

There were tables set up in a row with about 15 baskets wrapped in colored plastic wrap full of goodies, mostly kids stuff, and next to each basket was a bidsheet with a minimum bid and a pen...proceeds to next class?

There were 3 tables with goodies; punch, cookies, cakes, ice cream cups, chips, and so much more.. every parent must have brought something...

During the eating the kids & parents were entertained by a magician...

I have also seen and enjoy clowns making animals and other things out of balloons...and even hellium balloons work for kids...anyway...

I had to leave early...but I hope you have been inspired...All will be great if you and the kids have fun...  smile, giggle & laugh out loud a lot!

  4. a play or singing a song is always hecka cute

  5. I am a preschool teacher and we are just preparing for our graduation.   I have done the same style of program for three years and each year it is a big success. My students get to vote on a new song they want to sing and then we sing 3-4 of their favorite songs from throughout the year.   if you have not been big singers in your classroom, you might want to pick 1-2 songs and then have kids act out the parts of a favorite book. Or you could have your K students bring to life a poem with props and actions.

Anyway, after the families all laugh and enjoy the performance, we pass out the diplomas, and then have a special snack for all involved, ICE CREAM!  We have ice cream sundae bar with any and all toppings possible.  The kids love this and as a teacher it is relatively cheap and quick to prepare.

    I hope this helps

  6. of course do an ABC song using picture cards or abc cards then let 1-2 students do a small skit about something they learned during each month, end with take me out to the ballgame song...

  7. lake cunningham park is a good place to go

  8. Whatever you decide to do just remember that the shorter the better.  There will be alot of five yr olds to keep occupied!

  9. have a few songs sung by the kiddies, make a memory book to hand out with the program, have them do something they've learned in the year, have them stand up and say what they want to be when they grow up-things like that
