"After being out for two years due to injury, this is one thing I have learnt. I need to enjoy each and every small bit of success that comes my way. I have to seize happiness from each and every moment on cricket field," Irfan said.
Irfan had to sit out on the fringes of international cricket throughout 2010 and the best part of 2011 due to fitness issues which also affected his form. He was recalled for the CB series and the Asia Cup this year but failed to impress.
The left-arm bowler got a surprise recall after he was initially overlooked in the fifteen-man squad for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Vinay-Kumar-c2237 was ruled out due to an injury. Pathan repaid the faith shown in him by the selectors and was in imperious form with the ball.
The all-rounder was by far the best bowler for the Men in Blue, where he took a five-for in the ODIs, and had a couple of cameos over and above his match-winning performance in the One-Off T20I.
"I have realized that whatever has happened in the past is history and I can't afford to look too ahead towards future. But I can control my present and work hard to make things happen. That is exactly what I am trying to do. Grab each and every moment," the 27-year-old.
The Lankan series has appeared to have revived the fortunes of the Baroda-born all-rounder, who had been struggling to cement his place in the national side, but his recent form has ensured him a place in the T20 squad against New Zealand.
