  1. You can call the  IRS and tell them you are wanting to file taxes for those years and they will send it out to you.

    I was surprised to learn myself that they keep the info on file until someone calls for it. They can fax it to you also if you have a fax.

    I went through this as well when filing back taxes for my husband when we first got married. He had skipped out on filing for four years worth, but the last year he didn't file was 5 years before we married. The irs went back in their records and pulled it up right over the phone and had every record. They sent me copies of all of it. Not sure that time scale thing made since, but they let him file his taxes for five years without making him file the back taxes. I got the paperwork from them and filed all of the past forms. If the IRS doesn't have the files then you need to locate the places that filed the 1099's and get it from them. I wouldn't worry about filing if the IRS doesn't have the forms though.
