In the 'good old days' you could have simply called your travel agent and said "handle this."

My advice. Do not email. Do not call. Write a letter. Trust me, airlines are indindated with complaints (some justifiable, some not). They have become masters at dodging complaints.

However, if you take the time to actually write a letter, outline the situation and ask, specifically, for recourse (ie: the delay caused me to miss an important medical appointment and I think that, the least you can do, would be to issue a $100 credit for future air travel..."

Please keep in mind that all of the airlines are hanging in there by the skin of their teeth. If you look at your ticket breakdown, you'll find that the lion's share of many fares do not go to the airline but rather to taxes, city airport fees, security fees, etc.

That, however, does not excuse the poor service and rude behavior that is becoming increasingly more common in the industry.
