  1. i honestly do not know

  2. Use this link to find the closest Catholic Church to you: http://www.masstimes.org/dotnet/Default....

    With love in Christ.

  3. At 8, your child will have to attend classes on Catholicism & choose to be baptized in the church, much like an adult would who was joining the church.

So, find your local church & talk to the priest there about it.

  4. To have a child baptized at a Catholic church you usually need to be a Catholic and if not you at least have to have a family member or friend who is Catholic to name as their Godparent.

  5. Why?  Get the child baptized in your own church.  If you don't belong to one, why are you getting the child baptized?

  6. Are you Catholic? Or do you just want your child to be Catholic?

Look in the local phone book and find the local Catholic Church and call the office to talk to them. Since she is 8 she will need some classes so she knows what is going on....

Some Catholic Parishes are great and welcoming and others still have some grouchy fossils on staff. If you try a church and feel uncomfortable try another one.

They are going to want you to be a part of the parish---the Catholic Church doesn't see baptism as a one-time naming type thing. It is supposed to be making the person a member of a community of people who care about each other. Not something you can just drop in, get done and never go back...

  7. I don't know were you live, so the only suggestion I can come with is:

    Go to www.catholicweb.com

You can find any catholic diocese, church, school and organization on this site.
