I need to find a film on virtual reality?

I saw a film a few years ago about a guy who had a machine which allowed you into a virtual world where you could live out fantasies. Part way through the film it's revealed that in fact the world the guy lives in is actually a virtual world itself and there's a higher "real" world and in fact all the people in the guys world ar virtual themselves but just don't know it. There's a brilliant sequence when the hero drives his car out of town and as he reaches the edge of town the horizon becomes pixellated.

Does anyone know the name of the film?

I seen that movie but i'm not sure which movie it was.

I think it was The Thirteenth Floor.
