I need to find a good reliable car!?

i live in Macon,Ga, im a college student, and i need to find a good, reliable car under $1000, anybody have any ideas of any good places or magizines, or websites where i can find a good car?????????

go to the used car lots in your area (have your cash in hand0 and pick a car. check it out good. look underneath look closely for damage check the breaks drive it make sure it feels solid. I think the 2000-2001 Ford Focus are good value and they are cheap to work on. Mechanically they are solid but don't hold the value like honda's and toyota's.  Look for one say in the $3000 dollar range. offer them the $1000 be ready to walk to the next lot if they say no. With inventory at the high levels they are today. I bet you will find one
