The last book I read was 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke and I found it fairly interesting, although I have a bias from being a Stanley Kubrick fan. I like gritty yet amusing books like The Acid House by Irvine Welsh, but I cant stand anything to do with teen angst or any of that coming of age **** they make you read in English class. I'm 15 by the way. I have read all the Harry Potter books, however I am not a fan of any type of fantasy or of course teen books. I'm thinking of trying to get Clockwork Orange (Anthony Burgess) somewhere, because of my love of Stanley Kubrick movies and I also hope to get the chance to read Trainspotting (Irvine Welsh) after enjoying the movie. I could go one for quite a while about my taste in media but I'm probably already lucky you've read this far without leaving. So any suggestions for books? Sorry I sound like Niles from Frasier when I write.

  1. the alchemist by paulo coelho and to kill a mockingbird by harper lee.

  2. You should definetly read A Clockwork Orange. I'm reaidng it at the moment and it is way better than the movie.

Some other books that i liked are Breakfast at Tiffanys by Truman Capote, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Animal Farm  by George Orwell (which is very short but still good), The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger, To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig is also pretty cool but I'm about the only one i know who likes it so maybe not.

yeah, i like a lot of old books.

Also, I cant help but recomend On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. This book is the best book ever, although it is teenagery so you may not like it. its about the only favourite book of mine written in the 2000's

I am also 15 by the way

  3. if i did it by oj simpson....INSANE!! but all the proceeds do NOT go to him they now go to the goldman family fund. it is very chilling....if you like true crime..

  4. Two great humorous non-fiction books I recommend are by author George Brennan, Jr. He is the best character writer in the non-fiction genre. I think you would enjoy his two books:

    Bats, Brats, and Stats

    Excellence: Sons of Xavier Forever
