I need to find a pediatrician but am moving...?

Ok so I live in Scottsdale. I am having my baby at Scottsdale Osborn Hospital. I am moving to mesa next month which is about 20 miles away. Do I have to find a pediatrician in scottsdale or can it be in mesa? I am not sure if the pediatrician needs to be at the hospital or anything... This is my first child. If they do have to be there after the baby is born, they probably would not be will to travel that far... no?

If you do not have a pediatrician, or if your pediatrician doesn't have privileges at the hospital where the baby is born, the on-call pediatrician will take care of him or her.  You will have to go to a pediatrician 2 days after the baby comes home, and I think at 1 week and 2 weeks, so you will need to have someone in mind.  If you can handle the drive to Mesa, that would be fine, otherwise choose someone in Scottsdale for the short term.
