I need to find a speech therapist for a 4yr old child in NYC?

my daughter is 4 years old with a learning disability and she speaks like a 2yr old, and she has speech lesson's now but I think if she had someone better she would be speaking much better but any info that you can provide would be of great help

there's a program call help me grow if your child  they will help get your into school for that. my daughter need that and help me grow got her in a school that had her in speech classes and they  help your child .good luck.

She can get services at your neighborhood public school by talking to the principal and requesting a speech evaluation. If she's already being seen at the school, you may want to investigate further services at a medical center (like Columbia-Presbyterian or Montefiore). She can attend both at the same time and make better progress.

Your daughter is also eligible for Head Start. The neighborhood school coordinates with them for preschoolers with speech and other learning problems.

If your daughter is enrolled in a preschool program they should be able to help you find a speech therapist. Also, if her birthday falls before kindergarten cut-off and she will be starting school in the fall, contact your school district. If she has a diagnosed learning disability and speech difficulties, then she will have an IEP (individualized education plan) in school and will receive services through the school district. Have you tried consulting with a pediatrician? I think that a pediatrician would be able to offer some suggestions or a referral.
